VOL. 03 · SEPTEMBER 2026

shoe. gaze.

This one runs the whole family tree. Cocteau Twins and the Pale Saints laying the groundwork, MBV and Slowdive doing the thing everyone still measures shoegaze against, Chapterhouse, Lush, and Catherine Wheel filling out the classic run. Then it jumps eras entirely: Nothing, Whirr, and Narrow Head dragging the sound into the 2010s, Ringo Deathstarr and Luster keeping the fuzz alive, julie and Alcest closing it out on opposite ends of the genre (dream pop on one side, blackgaze on the other).

Wall of sound, buried vocals, volume as a genre convention. Press play, turn it up past where it's comfortable, and let it wash over you.

VOL. 01 · JULY 2026

yacht. rock.

It's a little presumptuous to make a yacht rock playlist when ?uestlove, who’s got WAY more records than us, has made a comprehensive 761 song version, but well, ours is shorter. (Aside, The Questlove Show's Christopher Cross episode is full on great.)

Everyone thinks of Christopher Cross and Steely Dan, but without Toto, maybe there's no Yacht Rock; here's 18 tracks where at least one member of Toto features in the studio. Cool vibes, hot nights, good friends, and maybe a baddie by your side. Boat optional.
