Plaid Room Records
LOVELAND, OH • 122 W. Loveland Ave, Loveland, OH 45140
Located in a suburb 20 miles or so outside of downtown Cincinnati, Plaid Room is a relative newcomer, opening its doors in 2015 after the founders had already started the Colemine Records label. Colemine is rooted in soul and funk, put out the first music from the Black Pumas, is the current home of Thee Sacred Souls, but has also branched out to include releases like the Black Key’s touring guitarist Andrew Gabbard’s solo country-fried psych albums.
Plaid Room itself is well worth the Uber from Cincinnati. With over 50,000 Lps in the bins, across a large array of genres, it’s a must visit, especially if you like soul, funk, jazz, indie, reissues, 45s, or digging used bins. Hell, they even stock 78s.
And, if you’re looking to unload some vinyl, they pay a nice, fair value on second-hand records. Pro-tip: Don’t miss some incredible steals in their yearly warehouse sale.
