Willie Nelson is an American treasure. If you don’t agree, we don’t have much else to discuss. And this is where Willie arguably became WILLIE. He’d been in Austin since 1972, and ‘Red Headed Stranger’ was a bonafide crossover hit in 1975. But this, a collection of jazz and American standards, confused the hell out of Columbia records, is 5xPlatinum certified, and sounds stellar on vinyl. Even our copy, found used, a late 70s ‘Get 12 Albums for 1 Cent’ Record Club edition sounds great. A perfect album, from needle drop to runout groove.
